Situated in the heart of Shrewsbury Quarry, this project aims to breathe new life into the region’s archaeological heritage by meticulously crafting a replica of the recently discovered Shrewsbury logboat.

The original logboat, unearthed during excavations in the quarry, has captured the imagination of locals and historians alike. Now, under the skilled hands of Chaloner, this ancient artefact will be reborn in a stunning recreation that pays homage to the craftsmanship and ingenuity of our ancestors.

Drawing upon his expertise in woodworking and sculpture, Chaloner’s dedication to authenticity and attention to detail promise to deliver a faithful representation of the original logboat. Using traditional tools and techniques, he will transform raw materials into a masterpiece that honors Shrewsbury’s rich maritime history.

“The Shrewsbury Logboat Dugout Project is a labor of love and a tribute to the generations who navigated the waters of the River Severn,” said Chaloner. “Through this project, we aim to preserve and celebrate our cultural heritage while inspiring future generations to connect with the past.”
