As an artist who has worked in a variety of media including painting, printmaking, and sculpture, recent years have seen me concentrating on working with wood, creating pieces inspired by and destined for the natural environment.
Drawing upon my background in philosophy and the natural sciences, work is produced that owes its form to close, often microscopic, observation of the natural world and its processes.
Education and public participation are important elements of my practice, and numerous projects have been undertaken that give people the chance to have a hand in the making of artwork that will later become a feature of their environment.
